We had a three-day tour to Dehradun and Mussoorie last 2012 summer.
Those days were very exiting.
Dehradun is located in the Himalayan foothills.
It also is one of the oldest cities of India.
We stayed in a resort in Sahastradhara.
In the morning, we had a yummy breakfast.
Then we took bath in the sulfur water spring which surely rejuvenated our body and soul.
In the afternoon, we could not resist to visit to the Forest Research Institute.
We saw a very big tree trunk and models of tiger, mountain, village etc.
I was surprised to see the architecture of the building.
We also went to vintage cars museum and Quranaic museum.
The very next day,
we did camping before leaving for the stunningly beautiful
Kempty Falls which is at a high altitude and surrounded by mountain ranges.
There were zigzag roads and we really got scared looking down the deep valley.
Our next destination was Mussoorie, a hill station also known as the ‘Queen of the Hills.‘ It was drizzling in the evening when we were shopping in the mall road. I was amazed by the old library built in 19th century. The last day we experienced river crossing. We climbed right up to the hill top with the rope way in Sahastradhara and enjoyed discotheque and the brilliant view of the entire Sahastradhara from the hill top.
On way back home, we took lunch at Rishikesh, which is a tranquil place and often claimed as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World‘ where the Beatles (UK Music Band) came to stay in 1960. We enjoyed the pleasant weather sitting by the side of the Ganges, boating and bathing. We crossed the river using Laxman Jhula, an iron suspension bridge and enjoyed spectacular views from the bridge.
Finally, we returned home (Aligarh) in the early morning. There were absolutely no studies which was the best thing I liked the most.
